The event was filled with energy, pride, and recognition, and was made even more special by the presence of Malayalam film legend Shankar, a beloved icon from the golden era of Malayalam cinema.

Ahalya’s team had the honour of presenting the welcome dance, setting the tone for an evening that celebrated the richness of Malayalee heritage and artistic excellence. One of the most unforgettable moments of the night was the academy’s theatrical dance tribute to the iconic character Nagavalli from the classic Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu. The performance captivated the audience with its dramatic intensity and classical finesse. For the Malayalee community, this character holds a deep emotional connection, and the portrayal struck a powerful chord, evoking admiration and nostalgia.

The evening became even more meaningful when Ahalya Dance Academy was awarded the title of ‘Most Emerging Dance Academy in Scotland’. This recognition was a proud milestone for the team, celebrating their dedication, creativity, and growing influence in the classical dance landscape of Scotland.

Held on 30 November 2024, the USMA Award Night was a perfect finale to a year filled with artistic achievements and cultural contributions. It was a night of celebration, connection, and joy, one that will be cherished by the entire Ahalya family.
