TRIYA - St Bride’s community Centre, Edinburgh

Triya, organised by Ahalya Dance Academy, was a remarkable Bharatanatyam Margam presentation by Marielle Chakkery under the expert guidance of Anoop Menon and Jiji Rajagopal. The performance was held at St Bride’s Community Centre, Edinburgh on 8th December 2025.

The evening was graced by distinguished chief guests including Dr Swetha Mangalath, renowned Mohiniyattam exponent; Dr Scott Arthur MP; and Consul Azad Singh of the Indian Consulate, Edinburgh.

Triya stood as a testament to rigorous training, artistic discipline, and unwavering dedication. The Margam opened with a soulful Ganesha Shlokam, specially composed for Triya by the eminent Kerala musician Shri Bijeesh Krishna. Marielle’s expressive and technically refined rendition of the Yati was a highlight of the evening, culminating in a unique and rare Thillana choreographed by Anoop Menon, which brought the performance to a vibrant close.

Through Triya, Marielle marked a significant milestone in her artistic journey. Ahalya Dance Academy takes immense pride in nurturing and guiding its students towards excellence, preserving tradition while fostering individual growth.
