15th August 2025
Ahalya was honoured to be invited to perform at the 79th Independence Day of India celebration, organised by the Consulate General of India, Edinburgh. The ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, Deputy Lord Provost of Edinburgh Lezley Marion Cameron, Deputy Provost of Perth & Kinross Andrew Parrott, and Members of the Scottish Parliament.
Ahalya’s team presented Mohiniyattam and Bharatanatyam performances to Indian patriotic songs, showcasing the beauty and discipline of these classical art forms in their purest essence. The team’s costumes were entirely designed and stitched in-house by Ahalya, reflecting deep dedication, creativity, and commitment to every performance opportunity.
The dances received heartfelt appreciation from the audience, while the authentic costume design, inspired by the colours of the Indian national flag, was widely praised for its artistic representation of patriotism. Each event inspires Ahalya to strive for greater excellence, making every performance more meaningful than the last.
